Madelina is a second-year American Studies Ph.D. student in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies. Her current research is on halal, or Islamically permissible, Latino food. Before coming to Purdue, she received her B.A. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Studio Art with a focus in Latina/o Studies and her M.A. in Latin American and Latino Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She enjoys cooking, reading, and art.
